APC’s transparent primary shouldn't be cancel.....

Senator Nwobodo joined fray of those warning the party against the cancellation which even a fellow participant, Barrister Nonso Madu who lost claimed was free and fairly won by Nwoye.
“That election was  free and fair and everybody saw it  from start to finish and hence no one should dare to nullify that election” Nwobodo said yesterday.
The former governor re-echoed his comments after the August 27 primaries in which he said the election primary was the most transparent he had seen in Anambra State.
Nwobodo had said: “I watched with keen interest the live transmission of the 2017 All Progressives Congress Governorship Primary for Anambra State, where Dr. Tony Nwoye was declared as the winner with a total of 2,146 votes.
“I wish to congratulate the National Chairman and National Working Committee for making this possible. I also congratulate the Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, and his Committee for conducting a free, credible and rancour-free primary in the state, making it the first time any political party would conduct such a transparent and rancour free primary in the state” Nwobodo said.

Dangerous politics in Nigeria by Igbos.

The governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, Wednesday, said that Igbo play the worst politics in Nigeria, noting that IPOB should have used another name rather using Biafra for their agitation.
“Igbo have to change their strategy, in order to reclaim their relevance in Nigeria’s power equation. Quote me anywhere, Igbo play the worst politics in Nigeria. IPOB would have made better impact if they had operated under any other name other than Biafra, to push their demand for equity in sharing of the nation’s political and economic resources”, he said.
Igbo have to change their plans, in order to reclaim their relevance in Nigeria’s power equation. Quote me anywhere, Igbo play the worst politics in Nigeria.
Initially, Hausa used to think they could not win elections without Igbo. Now, they believe with the combined massive populations of Lagos and Kano, they no longer need igbo to win.
“IPOB should have fought their struggle like the Niger Delta youth, Arewa youth and Yoruba group.
“Check it out, no Hausa man living in the south-east owns a duplex neither can you see a Yoruba man who lives in a room and parlour apartment of his own. But, should Nigeria break up today, Igbo will lose trillions in property and other investments in Lagos, the north and other parts of the country.
“The south-south has produced a president, the south-west has produced a president and vice president while the north has produced many presidents.
“Regrettably, IPOB activities have created fears in the minds of Hausa and other ethnic nationalities in the country, that, once Igbo becomes president, they would officially leave Nigeria,” he finally said.

Elechi; am not afraid………..

Former governor of Ebonyi, Chief Martin Elechi, said he was ready for probe by his successor, Gov. David Umahi, alleging that he had been under investigation since 2015.
Newsmen recall that Umahi had on Saturday in Abakaliki, threatened to probe the Elechi’s administration of 2007 – 2015, for “massive financial malpractices”.
Umahi had stated that he had covered his predecessors ‘sins’ enough and would publish the details of the probe in newspapers and other media channels.
He accused his former boss, who he served as deputy governor, for failing to pay past leaders, including the Minster of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, their pensions and severance allowances.
The governed faulted Elechi for ‘crying’ over non-payment of his pensions “when he failed to pay pensioners in the state since 2009.
But Elechi told newsmen in Abakaliki on Thursday that the governor had been probing him and his two sons since 2015.
“I handed over to Umahi on May.29, 2015, participated in his thanksgiving service on June 7, 2015, but received a letter of summon from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 9, 2015.
“The petitions, which EFCC sources said were more than 50, were written by the present Ebonyi government through the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
“We visited the anti-graft agency regularly since and the last time I visited there in May 2016, I was shown a later from the Attorney- General where I was accused of several financial malpractices,” he said.
Elechi said that the petitioners’ allegations against him included his government’s involvement in the establishment of the state cement, oil and gas, rice production companies, among others.
“It is then clear that Umahi must not be saying that he will probe me but say that he will continue from where he stopped with the probe since 2015.
“When I rejected the car offer Umahi made to me over these issues, he denied that his government had hands in the probe and I consider this statement as a lie.
“There is no way Umahi will not be aware of a probe instituted by the Attorney-General of his government.
“One of my sons is currently facing a court trial instituted by Umahi’s government.
“I am not running away from Umahi’s probe. I have survived five different probes when Gen. Yakubu Gowon’s administration was toppled, having served in the East-Central state administration.
“All these fizzled because I was not found culpable and there was no way I would be afraid of probe presently, especially when it was ongoing,” he said.
The former governor noted that his government earmarked N10 million monthly to offset pensions all through his administration and the public could verify from the office of the state Accountant-General.
“The circular over the payment entitlement of past leaders was issued by the Federal Government and Onu’s own payment was supposed to be made by the Abia government, as the governor of the old Abia.
“Umahi has the right to feel bad that I failed to support him to succeed me, but I don’t regret my actions and he should not see me as problem of his administration,” he said.

Free to Join APC, Sheriff

Former Minister of Transport, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, on Thursday said the PDP is not bothered if Ali Modu-Sheriff joins the APC or not.
Babatope, who wished the APC luck, said his greatest joy is that Modu-Sheriff’s reign of impunity was terminated by the Supreme Court and the party now enjoys peace.
Ali Modu-Sheriff is free to go anywhere he wants to go. My joy is that we in the PDP have succeeded in sending him out.
Also speaking, former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh, described Sheriff as a big spender who adds value to the growth of any political party he joins.
Momoh, a chieftain of the APC, said Sheriff is free to join the APC as he was not expelled but left on his own volition.
“Ali Modu-Sheriff is a big spender, a very big spender. I know that because we are in ANPP together and then we also were in APC together. Some of the biggest spenders in Nigerian political scene are Ali Modu-Sheriff and Bola Tinubu. They can spend to grow the party.
“Was it not Sheriff who was invited by PDP and he paid all their bills? I think if he wants to join any political party, there is freedom of association.
“Sheriff was one of our national leaders, he left on his own. He was never expelled from the party. We don’t give any condition for people to join. If he wants to join APC, he should go to his ward in Borno State and register there. If he now encounters problem there, that’s another matter on it's own.
